changes to the Background Server configuration, including the definition of those which are started
by default.
If the Background Servers are not up when a dynamic reconfiguration is requested, changing the
definition of those which are started by default will have no immediate effect, but will take effect
when the Background Servers are next brought up.
Background Server processing options
If the Background Servers are up when a dynamic reconfiguration is requested, they are always
brought down automatically prior to the reconfiguration being performed. They are then brought up
again (the default ones only), when it has been completed, thereby immediately implementing any
changes to the Background Server configuration, including the processing options for individual
servers or for the queue as a whole.
If the Background Servers are not up when a dynamic reconfiguration is requested, changing the
definition of those which are started by default will have no immediate effect, but will take effect
when the Background Servers are next brought up.
Operator Interface limit
Changing this has no effect.
Maximum Operator Interfaces
The new maximum is used to restrict the number of concurrent Operator Interfaces connected to the
instance. Any currently connected Operator Interfaces in excess of the new maximum number are
allowed to remain until they are disconnected in the normal course of events.
Automatic Online Server mode algorithm parameters
There are four values that are used in the algorithm used to decide when to start or stop Online
Servers when an instance is running in automatic mode. These values are: the number of checks, the
interval between checks, the ratio of servers to transactions to start a new server and the ratio of
servers to transactions to stop a new server. If any of these values are changed, and the Online
Servers are currently up and in automatic mode, the current sequence of checks is aborted and a
new sequence started with the new algorithm.
The new algorithm is used for all ensuing automatic Online Server start/stop checks.
Initial Online open/closed status
Changing this has no effect.
Initial Online up/down status
Changing this has no effect.
Initial Background up/down status
Changing this has no effect.
4.3.5.17 Client/Server Enhancements (SR4192)
